Graywolf Press Lannan Literary Grant
Since 2002, this nationally recognized nonprofit press, based in Minneapolis, has received support to produce new works in English translation.
With the assistance of this grant, the press publishes two books a year that otherwise would not have been translated and published. In 2012 the titles will be June Fourth Elegies by 2010 Nobel Peace Prize winner Liu Xiaobo, translated from the Chinese by poet Jeffrey Yang and The Life of an Unknown Man by Andreï Makine, the acclaimed Russian émigré, translated from the French by Geoffrey Strachan.
