Timothy Ferris

Timothy Ferris, called "the best popular science writer in the English language" by The Christian Science Monitor, is the author of Coming of Age in the Milky Way, The Mind's Sky, Galaxies and other best selling books on astronomy, physics, and the history of philosophy of science. A former newspaper reporter and editor of Rolling Stone magazine, he is a frequent contributor to The New Yorker, Harper's, Nature, and The Nation. Ferris wrote and narrated two television specials, The Creation of the Universe, which has aired annually for the past 15 years, and Life Beyond Earth, which premiered on PBS in 1999. Mr. Ferris is currently emeritus professor at University of California, Berkeley. On moonless nights, Professor Ferris can be found searching for extragalactic supernovae from Rocky Hill Observatory, which he designed and built, in Sonoma County, California.

Ed Krupp is an astronomer and Director of Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles. Recognized internationally as an expert on ancient, prehistoric, and traditional astronomy, Dr. Krupp has visited more than 1,700 sites throughout the world and regularly leads field study tours to exotic locations that have astronomical and archaeological interest. He is the author of several books on the celestial component of belief systems, including In Search of Ancient Astronomies and Archaeoastronomy and the Roots of Science.
