Lannan Art Program

Since 1986 the foundation has given financial support to more than 400 projects in the field of contemporary art by over 200 organizations throughout the United States.
In 2000 Lannan Foundation made a ten-year commitment of resources to a major collaborative project with Dia Center for the Arts. This multi-faceted collaboration has become the main focus of the foundation’s current work in Contemporary Visual Art.
Activities in the Art Program also include an Acquisition and Gift Program that enables the foundation to continue collecting the work of contemporary artists as well as making gifts of their work to museums and other public institutions throughout the United States.
While the Dia/Lannan collaboration constitutes the Foundation’s largest financial commitment to date, smaller grants to organizations are considered for exhibitions, land art projects, and innovative contemporary visual art projects.
