Lannan Video Library

photo of three video spinesFrom 1988 through 2002, the Foundation produced full-length video programs featuring major poets and writers from around the world reading and discussing their work. The intent of the video series was to promote the work of contemporary writers, to broaden the audience for literature, and to record writers for archival purposes. The resulting Lannan Literary Video Library contains 82 titles.

The Foundation has built an extraordinarily rich Audio Archive section of this website where you can listen to all the audio files from the titles in the Video Library. We regularly add new files from the many literary and cultural events hosted by the Foundation.

Donation Program
For more than 10 years, Lannan donated the Video Library to public libraries, high schools, colleges and universities, literary, community, and cultural centers, and correctional institutions primarily throughout the U.S. Although the Foundation stopped producing new video titles in 2002, donations continued with the on-hand inventory through April 2007.
