Yusef Komunyakaa
Yusef Komunyakaa, the author of eight collections of poetry, was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana, in 1947. Mr. Komunyakaa has written about his childhood in a rural southern town as well as his experiences in Vietnam, where he received a Bronze Star and was the editor of The Southern Cross.
