Michael Ondaatje is a poet and novelist whose books include Anil’s Ghost; The English Patient, which was awarded the Booker Prize; In the Skin of a Lion; Handwriting; and Secular Love.

Mr. Ondaatje was born in Sri Lanka, educated in England, and currently lives in Toronto, where he edits the literary journal Brick.
