Lannan Audio Archives
Welcome to the Lannan Audio Archive. More than 15 years ago the foundation began audio taping events in our Readings & Conversations series for archival purposes. With the launch of the website a few years ago, the Audio Archive section was created to share this rich resource with a worldwide audience. Each audio archive link will take to you the main page for that event. Please return to the Audio Archive section if you wish to further explore the archive recordings.
The archive contains several hundred hours of programs; many are once-in-a-lifetime events featuring a wide-ranging group of writers, poets, social and cultural activists and thinkers. The archive grows on a monthly basis as we continue to add fresh audio files from live programs hosted in Santa Fe before a public audience as well as additional Lannan-sponsored events. Many events feature a reading by the selected writer or poet followed by a lively conversation between the reader and a colleague.
The audio files are sorted alphabetically by the author’s last name. Please click on the links to the right to view and listen to the audio files.
You will need Real Audio software to listen to these files. You will see this symbol
indicating an audio file. Simply click on it, and be patient while the Real Audio Player opens on your desktop. Depending on your internet connection, it may take a few minutes for the audio file to begin playing. You will be able to adjust the volume, pause, start and stop the recording once it begins streaming.
There is a good chance the Real Player software is already on your computer. However, if you see “?” or “X” please download the free Real Audio Player. For your convenience, this link will open in a new window. If you already have Real Player, you may need to update to the most recent version.
