Naeem Murr

Naeem Murr‘s first novel, The Boy, was a New York Times Notable Book of 1998, and won a Lambda Literary Award.  He is also the author of The Genius of the Sea, and The Perfect Man, was awarded The Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for the Best Book of Europe and South Asia, and was long-listed for the Man Booker Prize. Nude, a novella published in book form for the Open Door Foundation for Adult Literacy, came out in 2012. His work has been translated into eight languages. He is a recipient of numerous awards and scholarships for his writing including a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Pen Beyond Margins Award. He has been a writer-in-residence at the University of Missouri, Western Michigan, and Northwestern University, among others. Born and brought up in London, he has lived in the United States since his early twenties, and currently resides in Chicago.
