Christine Shearer

Christine Shearer is a postdoctoral scholar in science, technology, and society studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her first book Kivalina: A Climate Change Story looks at the Native Village of Kivalina vs. ExxonMobil et al. lawsuit, and received Honorable Mention for the 2012 Rachel Carson Environment Book Award. She is also a freelance journalist and researcher, and her writing has appeared in academic and media publications including National Geographic, Grist, and Climatic Change.
